Tombs of Halime Hatun and Savcı Bey

Founding period · Beside the Ertuğrul Gazi Tomb

The grave of Halime Hatun: a white marble headstone carved with an inscription, a plaque at the foot reading "His wife Halime Hatun", red flowers on the tomb
The grave of Halime Hatun. The plaque reads "His wife Halime Hatun".

In the grounds of the Ertuğrul Gazi Tomb stand tombs of other members of the founding family. The chief among them are those of Halime Hatun and Savcı Bey.

Because contemporary documents are so scarce, the family relationships of people from the founding period differ from source to source. The explanations you meet at the tombs and in publications therefore do not always agree — this is not an error but the natural result of the period's source problem.

The tombs are within walking distance of one another, so they can all be seen in a single visit.
